Ron Mueck

Mueck’s sculptures faithfully reproduce the minute detail of the human body, but play with scale to produce disconcertingly jarring visual images. His five metre high sculpture Boy 1999 was a feature in the Millennium Dome and later exhibited in the Venice Biennale.

I saw a show of his in Pittsburgh at the Warhol Museum. It was good, and this sculpture was there.

Pretty amazing and detailed process. Right down to the goose bumps! Probably not my favorite artist, I’m really not a huge fan of hyper realism but this project I’m sure will be a real eye opener for me.
